The Bottsfords | John E. Bottsford, MD, FACS Owner/Medical Director, Bottsford's Vein and Laser Care Dr. John Bottsford, Jr., is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is a pioneer in the field of phlebology, having been the first Peripheral Vascular Surgeon in the Upstate of South Carolina. Dr. Bottsford is a leader in vein treatments specializing in advanced, minimally invasive techniques. His reputation for excellence results from years of training and personal dedication to the compassionate care of his patients. Following graduation from Loma Linda School of Medicine in California, Dr. Bottsford completed his Surgical Residency at the White Memorial Medical Center in Los Angeles California and his Chief Residency in Surgery at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center in Spartanburg, South Carolina. His fellowship in Peripheral Vascular Surgery was done under the direction of Dr. Max Gaspar, a leader and founding member of the Clinical Society of Vascular Surgery. For 25 years, Dr. Bottsford served as the Chief of Surgery at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. Following his Peripheral Vascular Surgery Residency, Dr. Bottsford introduced Sclerotherapy as one of the treatments for venous disorders and has treated hundreds of patients. He is a certified Laser specialist and is Medical Director of Laser services for Bottsford's Vein and Laser. | | Jane Bottsford, RN Owner/Director of Bottsford's Vein and Laser Care Jane Golightly Bottsford, R.N., graduated from the University of South Carolina Spartanburg in 1969. As a certified Critical Care Nurse, Jane worked in the Intensive Care Unit for 2 years at Spartanburg General Hospital. She then established the first Neuro Intensive Care Unit at the hospital. Serving as Head Nurse of Neuro for 2 years Jane became the Head Nurse of the Intensive Care Unit where she begun her first critical care experience. Following her Head Nurse experience, she taught nursing in Augusta, Georgia, served as Director of Nursing for convalescent hospitals in South Carolina and Southern California, and continued her critical care experience in Critical Care Units across Southern California as a Registry Nurse. Jane and Dr. Bottsford have been married for 29 years and have worked together in his Vascular Surgery practice for most of those years. She was the first Nurse Sclerotherapist in the Upstate of South Carolina and has been practicing directly with Dr. Bottsford for the past 14 years. Now Director Of Spartanburg Vein Care, she is a certified Laser specialist trained in the use of multiple lasers. As a community volunteer, Jane has chaired many non-profit organizations and has served as past president of the Spartanburg County Medical Society Alliance, past state president of the South Carolina Medical Association Alliance, board member of the American Medical Association Alliance, co-chairman of the Carolina Piedmont Foundation Health Education Complex Capital Campaign, board member of the Carolina Piedmont Foundation, past board chairman of the Children's Advocacy Center and board member of the Safe Homes, Rape Crisis Coaliation. Jane and Dr. Bottsford are parents of John III, Janna Leigh, Brad, and have one grandaughter, Cindel. | Vein Care Staff | Jean George, RN Director of Sclerotherapy Nursing Service Jean is a graduate of the University of South Carolina-Spartanburg (Upstate) School of Nursing. She graduated in 1973 and began her career in nursing working in Intensive Care. She then worked on the Medical Surgical Units for 2 years after which she joined Internal Medical Associates and remained there for 13 years. She is currently working for Spartanburg Regional Medical Center's Cardiac Rehabilitation Program-Inpatient Education. Jean is Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certified and one of two R.N.s in the Upstate of South Carolina trained in Sclerotherapy. She is a certified Laser Specialist trained in the use of multiple lasers. Jane and Jean have known each other for the past thiry years and worked together in various areas in the Hospital. Jean has worked with Spartanburg Vein Care and Laser Center for the past nine years ahd has been instrumental in the development of the business. Jean is a native of Pacolet, South Carolina and currently resides in Boiling Springs, S.C. with husband Ronnie. They have a daughter, Amanda, who recently graduated from the USC Upstate School of Nursing and passed her RN boards. Their son Todd lives in Pittsburg where he is working toward his doctorate in Psychology. Oppie and Juliet are Jean's 4 legged children and make up the rest of the family. | | Pat Powers, Office Manager After graduating from Lakewood High School in Lakewood, California, Pat attended Long Beach City College. She relocated to the Spartanburg area and has worked in the medical field for over 42 years. Her experience ranges from Family Practice, OB/Gyn, and Orthorpaedics, to the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. Pat has been working with Dr. Bottsford for the past 10 years and is a valuable member of the team. Pat always finds time to visit with clients to make them feel at ease and welcome.
