Most people require at least 3 to 6 treatments, as the process isonly effective when the hair follicle is in its active growth phase.

Your risks are minimal. Side effects may include purpura (a laserbruise), redness, blistering, hyperpigmentation, and swelling in thetreated area...these usually do not last more than a few days. Permanent side effects, such as hyperpigmentation or hypopigmentationor scarring, are extremely rare. After laser treatment, avoid sun exposure. In the first few daysafter treatment, don't scrub or rinse the treated areas with abrasiveskin cleansers.
If you're interested in laser hair removal, it's important, as a first step, to learn how it works. Laser hair removal technology is the use of an invisible beam of light and a constant source of heat that penetrates the hair follicle, disabling and then destroying it at its root while preserving the surrounding skin.
The procedure of removing unwanted hair is simply targeting the follicle and then directing the laser beam at its root. The hair removal process begins as the laser beam finds the hair follicle that it is targeting by first finding the melanin (the dark color of the hair).
Laser hair removal works best on those people with dark hair and fair skin. Laser will not penetrate gray hair or blonde hair. It will work on light to medium brown hair but will require more treatments than the black haired client.
The Gentle YAG Laser is the only laser in Spartanburg County that works on dark or black skin and these clients are ideal candidates for laser hair removal.
Laser hair removal is most successful when the hair is in its anagen phase (the phase when a hair follicle is its active growth). This phase lasts several years — 85% of our hair is in that phase at any given time. During this phase, the hair is easily targeted and more easily destroyed.
Because of the hair growth cycle-dormant, shedding, growing-hair, removal will be sold in packages of 3 treatments approximately 2 to 4 weeks apart depending on the location of hair to be removed. The upper body has hair grows more rapidly than the lower body hair and treatment schedules will vary from client to client.
